Full-Day Athens Sightseeing Tour with Food Tasting

Our tour will start from your hotel. Our guide will be waiting for you at the entrance of the hotel at the predetermined time of your appointment. If you are a cruise client your tour starts at the cruise port of Piraeus where your driver will wait for you outside your cruise ship holding a sign.

Lycabettus Hill

Firstly, we will visit the Lycabettus, the highest hill in the basin. On top of the hill, you will enjoy a magnificent view of the whole basin. You can have a pleasant break in one of the impressive cafes of the hill, if you want to. The car will wait for you for an hour.

Syntagma Square

After Lycabettus we will head towards Syntagma square, where we will see the most famous hotels of the city and across them, the imposing building of the Greek Parliament, which during the reign in Greece housed the royal family.

Temple of Olympian Zeus

Then we will drive to Filellinon Street, where we will see the Anglican and Russian churches of Athens. We will continue our journey passing in front of the Arch of Hadrian, which in the 2nd century AD separated the city of Athens in eastern and western Athens, namely the corresponding Roman and Greek Athens.

Behind the Arch of Hadrian are another 12 columns of the imposing Temple of Olympian Zeus, which started being built in the 6th century BC, but ended 600 years later during the Roman period.

Panathenaic Stadium

After the Temple of Olympian Zeus, we will stop for about 15 minutes at the Panathenaic Stadium to take some photos.

Irodou Attikou street

Then we will head to the Irodou Attikou street where we will pass in front of the Presidential Palace and the Maximos Mansion, the Prime Minister’s residence. In this area we will see the change of the Presidential Guard with the characteristic costumes, which are based on the sketches of Queen Amalia, the first Queen of Greece after the liberation of Greece from the Turkish oppression.

Monument of the Unknown Soldier

We will then head to the Zappeion Megaron and the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, where all the geographical points inside and outside the Greek territory, where the Greek army had victorious battles are written throughout the whole monument.

Panepistimiou street

Then we will head towards the Panepistimiou street, where we will pass in front of the Numismatic Museum and the Catholic Church. We will stop for a few minutes at the University and the National Library, where we will admire the architecture of the university buildings.

Our journey will go on along the Old Parliament, where the statue of the horse rider Kolokotronis dominates the courtyard.

8) Acropolis

Directed west we will visit the Acropolis, where the car will wait for you for about an hour and a half. There you will have the unique experience to admire from up close one of the most important architectural achievements of human civilization.

Acropolis Museum

Then we will drive to the Acropolis Museum where we will stay for about two hours. The new Acropolis Museum started operating in 2009 and is an architectural masterpiece that hosts findings from the Acropolis rock. The walk in its rooms is a journey in history, among the masterpieces of the Archaic and Classical periods, as well as the ancient neighborhoods of Athens.

National Archaeological Museum

After Acropolis Museum we will head to the National Archaeological Museum, where you will have the chance to admire the famous objects, which we all have kept from our childhoods regardless of our nationality, through the school books.

Finally, we will go back to the hotel where we picked you up from or you can disembark at any point you wish on your way back to your hotel.
